Ida Grande Kaurin (b. 1994, Tromsø) is a Norwegian composer whose music explores associative processes, rich textures, experimental staging and collaborative practices. She studied composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Asbjørn Schaathun, Lene Grenager, and Kristine Tjøgersen, and as part of her bachelor’s degree spent an exchange year at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, under the main supervision of Professsor Frédéric Durieux, and Yan Maresz, Luis Naon, and Grégoire Lorieux in electronic composition.
In October, she will begin her Master’s studies in Composition at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg under the supervision of Sarah Nemtsov. She is also the founder and Creative Director of Ensemble LIME, an Oslo based ensemble specializing in microtonal music.
Her works have been performed by a variety of ensembles and musicians, and featured at festivals such as the Ultima Festival and the Bergen International Festival.
